MANUEL CAMARGO · GUITAR MAKER
I choose the wood myself and listen to every soundboard before I work on it. Each guitar is signed, stamped and numbered.
COLLECTION · HANDMADE GUITARS
Every guitar begins with a different idea. Some of these instruments have already found their owners and will never be made exactly the same way again, while Arpía is still available. Here is a gallery of completed work, where every wood, motif and detail tells its own story.

THE CRAFT · BUILT BY HAND
Each instrument takes me at least a month and a half. If it needs more time, I give it more time.
I choose the wood myself. I go to the timber suppliers and can spend days looking until I find what I want.
I examine and listen to every soundboard before I work on it. If it doesn't convince me, I set it aside.
I finish the guitars with shellac using French polishing, a technique that few guitar makers still use.
WHERE I STARTED · CABINETMAKING
I come from carpentry. I started at twelve in a workshop in my town and learned cabinetmaking with Pepe Rodríguez, a cabinetmaker from Córdoba. I built my first guitar for myself, copying a friend's instrument.
READ MY STORYSOUND · THE CÓRDOBA SCHOOL
The Córdoba school is my main reference. I have studied instruments by Miguel Rodríguez, Juan Montero and Manuel Reyes. I have also taken references from guitar makers in Granada. As a guitar maker, I learned on my own.
I want power to be the first thing you notice when you hear them.
I work with cypress, maple, pau ferro, cocobolo and rosewood from India and Madagascar. For the soundboards I use spruce or cedar.
I work with 2.5 mm at the fingerboard and 7 mm at the bridge.
