Rafael Trenas
Maestro Rafael Trenas plays a cypress and spruce guitar built by Manuel Camargo.

THE SOUND · MANUEL CAMARGO
Seven recordings of my guitars in the hands of different players. Cypress, maple, pau ferro and spruce. The woods change; each instrument has its own character.
LISTEN TO THE RECORDINGSIn every guitar I look for its own balance: depth in the bass, clarity in the treble and a response that supports the player. Wood, construction and small adjustments are all part of the craft.
These are not laboratory tests. Some were recorded at home on a mobile phone. The player, strings, room and recording device also affect what we hear. That is why these recordings bring together different guitars and different hands.
